PMJF Lion. Damuluri Gopinath
Born into a middle-class family in Vijayawada on December
6th, 1950, Ln. D. Gopinath’s journey began with humble roots. After completing his education, he
ventured into the automobile business and later established a manufacturing industry, showcasing
his entrepreneurial spirit.

Drawn to the ideals of Lionism, Ln. Gopinath
joined the Lions Club of Vijayawada East in 1986. His dedication and commitment propelled him
through various leadership roles at both the club and district levels, culminating in his unanimous
election as District Governor for the Lionistic Year 2003-2004. He further served Multiple 324 as
Council Secretary in 2004-2005 and as Sector Co-ordinator CSF-II of Districts 324-C1, C4, C7 &
D3 from 2005 to 2008.
Ln. Gopinath’s active participation and significant contributions at the
district and multiple levels have earned him numerous awards and recognitions. He has received
the Leadership Medal, Presidential Medal, and Certificate of Appreciation from the International
President, a testament to his dedication and involvement. He has also been recognized as the Best
President, Best Zone Chairperson, and Best Cabinet Secretary at both the district and multiple
levels. He has been honored as the Lion of the Region eight times and the Lion of the District once.
Furthermore, he has received four Extension Awards and three Guiding Lion Awards.
Ln. D. Gopinath is a progressive Melvin Jones Fellow and has been recognized
as a 100% District Governor. His journey exemplifies a life dedicated to service, leadership, and the
betterment of the community through Lionism.
