MJF Lion. J N Sankar Gupta

In 1979, Lion Gupta married Lion Sujatha. They have a daughter, Kiranmai (M.Sc. Computers),
married to Satyanarayana, and a son, Krishna Pavan, a Chartered Accountant and Head of Indus Ind
Bank for Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Kerala, married to Gayatri.

Born in 1954 in Repally, Guntur district, Lion Gupta hails
from a middle-class family. His parents, Sri Jupudi Krishna Murthy and Smt. Dhanalakshmi, provided a
strong foundation for his future. After completing his commerce degree from SSR College, Vijayawada,
he pursued a career in finance and publishing. A skilled shuttle champion, he also served as Treasurer
of the Krishna District Badminton Association.

Lion Gupta played a key role in the construction and
beautification of the East Lions Multi-Service Centre. As Trust Chairperson, he initiated and completed
the East Lions Eye Hospital in just 60 days. Serving as Hospital Chairman for ten years, he supervised
10,000 free IOL operations, despite not having technical qualifications in the medical field.

 Lion Gupta held various leadership roles, including District Coordinator,
Mentor, DLLI Chairperson, Cabinet Secretary, Governor’s Advisor, and Editor of the Governor’s Newsletter.
His influence extended to regional and zonal conferences, and he frequently chaired Banner Presentation
Committees for district conventions.

 Lion Gupta attended six international conventions, toured the
USA, and participated in ISAME forums and multiple conventions. In 2020-21, he became the 2nd Vice
District Governor with a decisive vote margin. His dedication earned him many awards, including the
International Presidential Medal, Six International President’s Certificates, and various Club Extension
and Lion of the Region Awards.

Lion Gupta held various leadership roles, including District Coordinator,

Child Eye Screening Initiative: Demonstrating his commitment to service, Lion Gupta led a major child
eye screening initiative. He equipped a van with screening facilities, touring the district and helping
thousands of children. His personal contribution included funding 3,000 spectacles for those in need.
